Holo features circles that reflect light differently depending ​on their angle to the wall. The changing location, light, and ​angles make the artwork constantly shift, offering a new ​experience with each viewing.

Aurora Australis, 2020

Materials: LED tube, holographic foil

Aurora Australis is a lamp inspired by the ​natural phenomenon of the southern lights. ​When off, the holographic material reflects ​light from its surroundings, and when on, it fills ​the space with a soft, colorful glow.

Untitled#3, 2018

Materials: wood, primer, glow-in-the-dark paint, fluorescent spray paint, LED strip

Untitled#3 is a customizable light artwork designed to fit any space and is easily movable since it operates without cables. It ​has three phases: when off, a colorful gradient shadow is visible; when on, the gradient becomes more pronounced.

In complete darkness, the glow-in-the-dark effect softly illuminates the piece, creating a lasting afterglow.

The owner can choose how to present the work, making it uniquely adaptable.

When the Sun Shines, 2017/2024

When the Sun Shines is an artwork that constantly changes, composed ​of materials that react to light. It comes to life when (when the sun ​shines) sunlight enters the space, illuminating the materials at specific ​times of day. The artwork only exists in these moments, often indicated ​by time, so viewers know when the sunlight will bring it to life.

PMMA, 2017

PMMA is a simple yet elegant piece ​that pays tribute to its material. It ​explores the play of light—how it ​attracts and repels—creating a ​magical effect that mimics the ​presence of a lamp. In reality, it's the ​material itself at work. The shape is a ​result of an investigation into the ​ultimate form and dimensions to ​optimize this visual effect.

Digital Sunset, 2017/2024

Digital Sunset exists in multiple ​forms (photo, print, and ​projection) using a personal ​archive of sunset photos. Each ​image is transformed into a digital ​gradient in Photoshop, with 3 to 5 ​colors selected from each photo ​to create the gradient. The ​artwork explores the balance ​between artificial design and ​natural beauty, highlighting the ​interplay between technology and ​nature.

Lunar & Solar Eclipse, 2021

Lunar & Solar Eclipse is ​inspired by the 1999 solar ​eclipse, which left a lasting ​impression on me as a ​seven-year-old and sparked ​my fascination with the ​moon.

The works use wood, ​blackboard paint, and LED ​strips to capture the ​essence of this celestial ​event.

This work began as an accidental discovery. While ​photographing the Sahara sky, I captured a series of images ​from the northern horizon, over my head, to the southern ​horizon. When viewed on my digital camera, these photos ​revealed a stunning blue gradient.

The artwork translates this gradient into a large-scale color ​sample, similar to those found in paint stores, with the title ​reflecting the exact coordinates of the Sahara location where ​the photos were taken.

Plant Pantone, 2020

Plant Pantone is a response to N 31° 24' 21.6" W 4° 11' ​42". During the pandemic, while confined to my ​small studio in Eindhoven, I photographed all my ​plants up close to create a green color sample, ​inspired by the Sahara work.

This piece translates the rich variety of greens from ​my plants into a large-scale color sample

Error, 2023

Error is another work born from an ​accident. After developing a set of ​photos, I was surprised to find an ​error in the folder. The images ​displayed unusual colors unrelated ​to the original nature photos. This ​unexpected outcome reminded ​me of my work Digital Sunset. The ​combination of the nature photos ​with the digital error creates a ​striking contrast.

The sun & The moon, 2018

The Moon and The Sun was inspired ​by a morning awakening in my tent at ​an oasis in the Oman desert. On the ​horizon, I saw both the moon and the ​sun, equally bright and large, ​perfectly balanced. This captivating ​sight of celestial harmony led to the ​creation of this work, reflecting the ​fascinating balance between these ​two

Graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from AKV St. Joost. Working ​from two artistic expressions installation art and

analogue photography, she embraces the contrast between the ever-​faster world and natural (light) phenomena that only

stand out if you take your time and look around you. Taking the time to ​stop and observe makes Van der Kant more aware of

the environment. Her analogue photos show the brief moments of the ​everyday, a composition of calm and tranquility.

The light installations depict natural phenomena from everyday life. ​These are isolated, enlarged and presented in a

different context (art environment). Those moments are mainly ​observed during long walks with her camera.
