ABOUT
Evi van der Kant (b. 1992, The Netherlands) living in Hamburg, Germany.
Graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from AKV St. Joost. Working from two artistic expressions installation art and analogue photography, she embraces the contrast between the ever-faster world and natural (light) phenomena that only stand out if you take your time and look around you. Taking the time to stop and observe makes Van der Kant more aware of the environment. Her analogue photos show the brief moments of the everyday, a composition of calm and tranquility.
The light installations depict natural phenomena from everyday life. These are isolated, enlarged and presented in a different context (art environment). Those moments are mainly observed during long walks with her camera.
